Meet Whitney Alexandria Walls, Founder of The COM7LETE Project.
My Story
A native of Greensboro, North Carolina Whitney Alexandria has always planned to give back to her community. A proud graduate of James B. Dudley High School class of 1999. Whitney Alexandria went on to attend the school of her dreams, North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. While attending she majored in Transportation and Logistics in the School Of Business, was the captain of the Blue and Gold Marching Machine’s Golden Delight Dance Squad, an active member in the School of Business Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Club, and Toast Masters. Fulfilling one of her long-term goals she graduated Magna Cum Laud in 2003.
After graduating Whitney Alexandria entered the corporate world and joined the Walgreens Management team for seven years. While there she was able to implement her undergraduate degree strategies but found that she still had her childhood passion for doing hair and making people beautiful. Understanding that she should live her life to the fullest she decided to embrace that passion and left Walgreens and perused her degree in Cosmetology. Whitney Alexandria attended both Leon’s Beauty School where she received her cosmetology license and L. B. Beauty Academy for her instructor’s license. She received her license from the State Board of North Carolina Cosmetology in 2009. After passing her state exam Whitney Alexandria and her best friend, Tia Hastye transitioned from corporate America and became entrepreneurs on November 15, 2011 when together they established 3:16 Studio & Co. located conveniently in Downtown Greensboro, North Carolina. This salon is holistic and operates organically within the community. As a licensed cosmetologist, Whitney Alexandria provides her clientele a safe environment where all are welcomed to receive quality hair care services. These services are attractive to those who enjoy both natural hair care and other specialized hair treatments such as relaxers, scalp treatments, and hair coloring. She also provides hair extensions and creates wigs for cancer patients.
An advocate of Kaizen “continuous improvement” Whitney Alexandria received her microblading/microshading certification in 2017. She is the first proclaimed African American woman in Greensboro, NC with these credentials.
One of the driving forces behind Whitney Alexandria’s enthusiasm for giving back to her community is by providing a Back To School/Back Pack/School Supply/ Hair Style Give Away campaign as well as hosting a Prom Prince and Princess event. In these events Whitney Alexandria opens her salon to these youth, so they can go back to school with the supplies they need to succeed inside of the classroom. She also provides this service during prom season. Another aspect of what makes her special is the fact that she possesses phenomenal interpersonal communication skills which is evident by the strong client relationships she has cultivated with her loyal customers. She can relate organically with a four-year-old child and she is just as effective with a more seasoned client. Whitney Alexandria takes her responsibility as co-owner of 3:16 Studio & Co., a licensed cosmologist, and being a licensed microblading/microshading esthetician to heart. Her professionalism, creativity, and community orientation would be appealing to any person seeking a new hair stylist and/or brow artist.
According to Whitney Alexandria, “I am so grateful for where I am and I give all glory and honor to God first and foremost. I know who I am. I know whose I am and I know my self-worth. My steps are purposed driven and divinely ordered. It is A Way Of Life. I am Whitney Alexandria Walls and I am COM7LETE!”
